Pexton named JLL industrial lead as Lynn moves on

Avison Young director Andrew Pexton is to join JLL as head of its North West industrial and logistics agency, replacing Andrew Lynn who has been hired by London-based DTRE.

Pexton will move to JLL in the New Year. He joined GVA, which merged with Avison Young last year, in 1993, and has worked on several significant industrial developments across the region, for clients including Royal London, Peel Logistics, IPIF, Goodman, and Aviva.

Lynn has been with JLL’s Manchester office in 2013 and replaced Dan Burn as head of industrial in 2017. He is due to join DTRE as a partner in February, and will remain based in the North West to service clients such as Hillwood and Bericote at St Helens, and Icon at Manchester Airport.

Steve Hogg, lead director for JLL in the North West, said: “Andy brings a wealth of expertise to the team, and at a crucial time for JLL as demand for our industrial and logistics consultancy continues to soar.

“The North West’s industrial market is booming, with the JLL Manchester office typically transacting between 2 to 3 million sq ft each year.

“Andy’s credentials and proven track record in the region will further enhance the great work the team is already doing and ensure that JLL remains a market leader in this space.”

JLL’s industrial clients include Himor, Langtree, Peel Logistics, Stoford and Mountpark, advising on Omega, Kingsway Business Park and Logistics North.

Pexton added: “JLL is doing some brilliant work throughout the region. I’m pleased to be joining such a great team, and I’m looking forward to getting to know both existing and new clients and helping to support their strategies at this exciting time in the market.”

Dear By Alan: Considering the number of entire teams who have jumped to a better paying employer, it seems as if loyalty is a fool’s virtue in this Business. I suppose employers’ Managers kick subordinates onto the street too, if they think they personally will benefit by doing so. And if I poach disloyal mercenary staff, how do I expect them to behave when working for me?
