Peter Jackson promoted to MD at Seddon Construction

The chief operations officer will succeed Jonathan Seddon as managing director of the £200m turnover construction division of the family-owned group next week.

Jackson originally joined what was then G&J Seddon in 1994 as a quantity surveyor and spent seven years with the firm before moving to Wates for four years. He rejoined Seddon as operations director in 2005, before moving up to chief operating officer in 2014.

Jonathan Seddon will become chairman of Seddon Construction and continue in his role as chief executive of the Bolton-based Seddon Group, now in its 120th year in business. Current chairman Bruce Scott will step down to non-executive director.

Jonathan Seddon said: “Over the last three years as chief operating officer, Peter has been instrumental in guiding Seddon through many changes and challenges, establishing our regional teams and outlining a powerful vision for the business.

“I am therefore delighted to announce Peter’s appointment to managing director. It is vital that we have the very best people leading our organisation at every level, and as a key part of the Seddon strategy, I’m certain Peter will help us achieve every ambition we have as a business.”

Jonathan Seddon is the fourth generation of the Seddon family to lead the business.
