PegasusLife retirement housing approved

An elderly living scheme by PegasusLife on the site of former Cheshire East Council offices in Wilmslow has been given the go-ahead.

The retirement housing provider’s plans include 67 assisted living apartments alongside a reception and concierge area, restaurant, lounge, library and hobby room, wellbeing facilities including physiotherapy suite, treatment room, hair and nail salon, salt inhalation suite, sauna, steam room, and gym.

The site in Chapel Lane consists of two empty office buildings.

PegasusLife was selected as preferred bidder for the two-acre site known as Remenham in Chapel in June last year by Engine of the North, the council’s development agency.

The application was due to be discussed at a committee meeting on 29 April, but the decision was deferred in order to allow PegasusLife to look at further parking provision on the site.

PegasusLife, based in Winchester, Hampshire, has a portfolio of schemes throughout London, Southern England and the Midlands and the development in Wilmslow would be its first in the North West.

PegasusLife was advised by HOW Planning. The development was designed by Glenn Howells Architects.
