Peel takes control of Pinewood board

Peel Group chairman, John Whittaker, and three other Peel executives have been appointed as non-executive directors of Pinewood Shepperton, the quoted film studio group recently acquired by Peel.

Whittaker is joined by Mark Senior, Peter Hosker and Neil Lees on the board of Pinewood with immediate effect.

Pinewood also announced the resignation of Adrian Burn, James Donald and Nigel Hall as non-executive directors of the company.

Peel's Steven Underwood has been on the Pinewood board since June 2010. There are now five Peel representatives on a board of nine at Pinewood.

Also on the board are chairman, Michael Grade, chief executive Ivan Dunleavy, finance director Patrick Garner and Nick Smith, sales and marketing director.

Pinewood said: "On 25 June 2010, the company and Peel Holdings entered into a relationship agreement regulating, amongst other things, the number of directors associated with the Peel Group who could sit on the board of the company. Prior to the above appointments and resignations taking place, this relationship agreement was duly terminated to allow these changes to the composition of the board to occur."
