Peel Ports is embarking on a two-year national marketing campaign to reposition its brand and target new industry sectors.
Manchester-based WRG Creative Communication has been appointed to deliver a campaign that includes brand and repositioning strategies, branding development, website design and build, marketing planning and campaign delivery.
The brief encompasses all of the ports and terminals owned or operated by the group, including Liverpool and Heysham as well as ports in the South East, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The profiling work comes as Peel Ports prepares to build the new £300m Liverpool 2 deep sea container terminal which it says will increase its profile within the national and global shipping industry.
Peel Ports is also diversifying its offering to target emerging industry sectors, including port centric logistics facilities on the Manchester Ship Canal and renewable energy and off-shore wind facilities.
Dennis Henderson, business development director of Peel Ports, said: "This is an exciting time for us and a period of change and expansion for the whole company. As we venture into new markets, WRG will provide invaluable strategic guidance on our company positioning, branding and overall marketing communications and we are confident they will guide us through the next two years, delivering highly successful marketing communications activity to meet our business objectives."
Tracey Collinge, client director at WRG Creative Communication, added: "This is a great win for WRG and bolsters our growing B2B expertise in line with our aim of becoming a major player in this sector."
