Peel Ports seeks suppliers of construction equipment

Peel Ports is tendering for the supply and operation of construction and civil engineering machinery and equipment for its Liverpool operations.

Peel said the successful applicant will be required to supply and operate equipment as and when required during a three year contract.

Deadline for applicants is Friday 25 March.

Peel Ports is one of the largest ports operators in Europe with over 2,500 employees. Peel's port operations cover major facilities at Port of Liverpool, the Manchester Ship Canal, Clydeport, Medway and Heysham.

Last September, Peel Ports added 5,000 container parking spaces, known as ground slots, to its Royal Seaforth container terminal.

The port operator is 51% owned by Peel and 49% by Deutsche Bank's real estate arm RREEF.

Last year, Peel Ports also agreed a deal on the freehold disposal of the Bridgewater Paper Co facility in administration in Ellesmere Port representing 900,000 sq ft on 50 acres.
