Peel Holdings lose Castlefield scheme appeal

The Government's planning inspectorate has rejected an appeal by Peel Holdings over plans for a block of 117 apartments in Jackson's Wharf, Castlefield.

The seven-storey apartment block has been faced with protest from the local community and had already been refused planning by Manchester City Council on two separate occasions.

The scheme was turned down on the grounds that it would have a detrimental impact on the character and appearance of the surrounding area.
