Peel Centre agrees TK Maxx move
TK Maxx is to move its Stockport store to The Peel Centre after agreeing a 10-year lease on an 18,000 sq ft unit previously occupied by Comet.
Landlord Peel will carry out an extensive refurbishment of the unit before TK Maxx relocates from its existing site in Warren Street, Stockport.
The refurbishment will include a completely new glazed shop front, in keeping with the other fashion retailers on the park, substantial roof works and a new shop fit.
The new store will open immediately after the closure of the Warren Street store, with all existing staff relocating to The Peel Centre.
Other tenants at The Peel Centre include Argos, Boots, Bensons Beds/Harvey's, Costa Coffee, Currys/PC World, dfs, Dunelm Mill, Frankie & Benny's, Gap, H&M, Hobbycraft, KFC, Matalan, New Look, Next, SCS and Toys R Us.
Roger Wheeldon, senior development surveyor at Peel, said: "Bringing a brand as strong as TK Maxx to The Peel Centre is fantastic news and they will add greatly to the parks existing strong fashion line up, we hope this large unit will allow them to increase on their existing business in Stockport."
