Patrick Parsons expands into North West

The Newcastle-based consulting engineer has opened an office in Chester and plans to have a team of ten by the end of 2011.

The Chester office is headed up by Chris Gooch Butler who joined PPL at the end of 2010 and has since split his time between Newcastle and working from home in Chester.

This week, Nick Murphy joined as director of building services from Mouchel's Liverpool office. Murphy specialises in energy efficient building services. Cormac Harte, principal structural engineer, joined from Gifford in July.

Patrick Parsons' North West clients so far include Jones Lang LaSalle, Pickstock Group and Linford Construction. The new Chester office is at The Old Coach House, 4/5 Vicars Lane, Chester, CH1 1QX.

Gooch Butler said: "Life in the Chester office has started well and we have already won a number of contracts in the last few weeks. The office will build on the wide range of civil and building sectors that PPL currently specialises in as well as continuing PPL's history of working within the heritage sector."
