Parcelforce distribution centre approved

Turley Associates has secured planning permission for developer Evander Properties to build two sheds on a 25-acre site at the Revolution, part of Buckshaw Village in Chorley.

The first, of 123,500 sq ft, has been pre-let to Parcelforce Worldwide, part of the Royal Mail Group. Work is due to be completed in September 2013. The second unit will be 182,500 sq ft but work will not start until it has been pre-let.

Buckshaw Village contains 500 acres of mixed-use development, including 2,000 new homes, retail and leisure facilities, employment space and a new railway station.

Andrew Bickerdike, a senior planner in Turley Associates' Manchester office, said: "This is a significant planning permission for Evander Properties and Buckshaw Village, delivering high quality employment accommodation and providing a significant jobs boost to the town. The original planning application was made in September 2011 and, working closely with the council has been amended to reflect Parcelforce's accommodation requirements in order to bring this major new employer to Chorley."

Littler Young, Dowley Turner Real Estate and Jones Lang LaSalle are joint letting agents at Revolution.
