Panoramic enjoys height of good taste

Liverpool-based developer Beetham has reported it's new Panoramic restaurant on the 34th floor of West Tower is fully booked for the first six weeks of trading.

The highest restaurant in the UK opened its doors to paying customers last Friday, 1 February, and has received several hundred inquiries a day by phone and email.

Chris Marshall, chef director at Panoramic, said: "We have been completely blown away by the response we've had since opening. We received around 450 booking requests on our first night of business and the demand has continued on this scale.

"We are delighted to have been received with such open arms not only locally, but internationally with some bookings coming from as far a field as Italy. There is no mistake that the public is delighted to have the UK's tallest restaurant in a world-class city such as Liverpool."

Panoramic sits 300ft above the River Mersey and has – as its name suggests – 360º views of at least five counties and Beetham's Hilton tower in Manchester.

Panoramic celebrated its launch with two parties before opening night. Guests included Phil Redmond, Atomic Kitten Liz McLarnon, City Talk's newest recruit, Dean Sullivan and Hollyoaks start Jamie Lomas and Roxanne McKee.
