Panattoni advances 305,000 sq ft Crewe warehouse

After completing its first 240,000 sq ft property at Crewe Commercial Park, the developer has advanced plans to build a further 305,000 sq ft warehouse at the site off the A500.

Panattoni already has outline consent for the site and is now looking to develop a further 14-acre plot including a 291,000 sq ft warehouse and three-storey 14,000 sq ft office.

A 240,000 sq ft unit, Crewe 240, has already been delivered speculatively at the site off Jack Mills Way. CBRE, Burbage Realty, and Legat Owen are the retained agents.

Dan Burn, development director at Panattoni, said: “We have been hugely encouraged with the interest that we have received to date for our 240,000 sq ft speculative unit.  By submitting this application, we will ensure that we can respond immediately to occupier’s requirements and give ourselves the option of a further phase of speculative development at the appropriate time”.

Matthew Byrom, managing director of Panattoni, added: “As a result of its strategic location between the North West and West Midlands conurbations, Crewe has always attracted a strong list of occupiers.  With proposals for the town to become a hub for HS2, we are confident of robust demand”.

Panattoni’s plot forms part of the wider Crewe Commercial Park, formerly known as Basford West. Last month, Peel Logistics Property secured consent to build two warehouses totalling 136,000 sq ft on a neighbouring plot.
