Pair of Knowsley industrial schemes advance

Redsun Projects has appointed Triton Construction to build a 50,000 sq ft trade counter scheme, while the council is seeking a development partner to deliver a 450,000 sq ft logistics park off North Perimeter Road.

Interested parties have until 1 October to bid for the chance to redevelop a 28-acre plot at Knowsley Business Park.

The land “is primed for investment as a distribution or industrial site”, according to the council.

Cllr Tony Brennan, Knowsley Council cabinet member for regeneration and economic development, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for developers or a company to invest in Knowsley. It is a major site of local and regional importance and of significant scale so we are anticipating a very good response from the market.”

Redsun’s trade counter scheme at Knowsley Industrial Estate comprises seven units ranging in size from 8,000 sq ft up to 10,000 sq ft.

Having bought the three-acre site, the developer won planning consent for the project, known as Knowsley Hub, in April.

Howdens Joinery has signed a 10,000 sq ft pre-let at the scheme, which is designed and project managed by C4 Projects.

The wider project team includes Muir Consulting as the engineering consultant and UCML as the utilities consultant.

Avison Young and B8 Real Estate are joint letting agents for the scheme.

Nick Wightman, director at Redsun Projects, said: “We have made sound progress at Knowsley. Vacancy levels in the area are at an all-time low, further demonstrated by the high level of enquiries we’ve received.”

Triton is to start on site in October with completion due for April next year.
