Packaging firm revives Geo Scott site

Wooden packaging and pallet maker Northern Case Supplies has signed a 15-year lease on 68,000 sq ft with St Modwen in Ellesmere Port.

The Cromwell Road premises will house NCS's manufacturing, reconditioning and storage facilities in a secure environment.

St Modwen acquired the site in 2008 from metal manufacturer Geo L Scott & Co and has worked with the local authority to bring forward a mixed-use development for the remaining 18 acres, which includes the adjacent former HH Robertson site.

Michelle Taylor, regional director of St Modwen, said: "To secure a letting to a well established company is great news for this site as it provides vitally important jobs in the town.

"We are exploring options for different uses on the balance of the site with Cheshire West Council and are keen to increase our investment in this key site which is an important gateway into Ellesmere Port town centre."

Greg Milton, managing director of Northern Case Supplies, said: "We are delighted to have acquired this excellent site thus enabling the continued expansion of our busy timber pallet manufacturing and export packing division."

Legat Owen acted for St Modwen.
