Packaged Living hires development manager

The build-to-rent developer has appointed Peter Rowe from planning consultancy Turley to oversee the delivery of the 350-apartment Heyrod Street scheme in Manchester known as the Castings.

Rowe joined Turley, which is the planning consultant for the Castings project, as senior planner in 2013, having spent a brief spell at multidisciplinary practice Atkins. He worked for Turley for the past seven years.

Starting his new role today, Rowe’s primary focus will be the delivery of the 25-storey scheme, which Packaged Living is developing in joint venture with investment manager Fiera Real Estate.

Plans for the Castings, which was designed by architect CallisonRTKL and forms part of the emerging Piccadilly East district, were lodged last summer but have not yet been approved.

Originally from Bristol, Rowe started his career in the public sector, spending five years in the planning departments at Bath and North East Somerset Council and South Gloucestershire Council.

From there he moved into the private sector to London-based Martin Robeson Planning Practice before joining Atkins’ Warrington office in 2012.

Rowe said: “Packaged Living is a market leader in the build-to-rent sector and I’m looking forward to helping to deliver high-quality build to rent developments, including the Castings into the exciting Piccadilly East neighbourhood.”
