Ordsall Travelodge due for completion in autumn

Contractor Anglo Holt has started construction of the new 156-bed Travelodge on Trafford Road in Salford Quays for developer LPC Living.

The hotel is the second phase of development at Radclyffe Park, following a Morrisons supermarket, a dozen retail units, 79 new homes and a 357-space car park in phase one. The first phase is on site with Russells Construction and the steel frame of the supermarket has now been finished and foundations to the first 17 houses completed.

Simon Ashdown, development director at LPC Living, said: "With the supermarket frame now completed and work starting on the seven-storey hotel, Radclyffe Park is shaping up to become one of the most prominent schemes in the Quays area. This is particularly exciting for local residents and businesses who will be able to benefit from having improved amenities, services and facilities on their doorstep."

The hotel was designed by Liverpool-based architects Falconer Chester Hall and completion is expected in the autumn. Travelodge has agreed a 25-year lease which begins on completion of the building.
