One Stop signs to Valley Parade

A joint venture between Peak Valley Housing Association and Rowlinson Constructions has signed its first tenant to Valley Parade in Hattersley, Tameside.

Retail convenience store One Stop is anticipated to open for business in January 2012.

Valley Parade is a new retail development replacing a row of older units, which were demolished earlier this year and known locally as the Honiton shops. The project is still to be completed.

Phil Corris, managing director of Peak Valley Housing Association, said: "We are pleased to have such a well known brand as the first retailer to move to the area. One Stop is taking two of the seven retail units available and we expect to be able to announce other retailers very shortly."

The £4.7m project will also see the development of 33 two bedroom apartments aimed at people aged over 55 years old. The properties are expected to be available for general rent in the first quarter of 2012.

Corris added: "This part of Hattersley is undergoing major redevelopment with new homes from our partners BASE also being developed in the vicinity.

"The new facilities on the doorstep will service not only existing residents, but the new residents of both the new homes and apartments."

GVA Grimley and Roger Hannah are joint agent agents on the retail units. Detail of the rental agreement was not disclosed.
