One New Bailey tops out

English Cities Fund’s 125,000 sq ft One New Bailey office in Salford has reached the highest point of construction, nine months ahead of its scheduled completion date.

One New Bailey is currently ahead of schedule for occupation in May 2016, as part of the wider New Bailey development site on the banks of the River Irwell. The scheme is made up of several phases, with a 143-bed Premier Inn and a 615-space NCP car park already completed.

One New Bailey will provide eight-storeys of offices, while a further two 200,000 sq ft offices are planned for the site. In addition, there will be a mix of cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as enhanced public realm in the form of a new public square.

Bowmer & Kirkland is the contractor.

In June, ECf announced that Legal & General will forward fund a £16m development of a new apartment block at New Bailey.

ECf is a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General and the Homes & Communities Agency

Sir Michael Lyons, chairman of ECf, said: “This is another landmark moment for One New Bailey and ECF’s ambitious work in Salford. We are very pleased to report that we are currently ahead of schedule for the May 2016 completion of this prestigious development. With its close proximity to the city centre and excellent transport links, New Bailey will be an exciting, vibrant place to live, work and visit. With every milestone reached, it is promising to become an enticing extension to the city’s business and leisure offering.”
