One New Bailey restaurant named

English Cities Fund has agreed a 6,000 sq ft restaurant deal with an occupier for the ground floor of its One New Bailey office building next to Spinningfields.

Restaurateur Karina Jadhav will spend £1.5m creating the new restaurant, to be called Menagerie. Jadhav’s earlier restaurant include Neighbourhood, Victors Hale and Southern Eleven. She said: “Myself and the team are very excited to see the plans for Menagerie come to fruition following many months of hard work. The opening will provide a vital opportunity to introduce a new wave of experiential vibrant dining to Manchester, which really represents my personal evolution in the industry. A menagerie is a collection of the enticing and exotic, which is exactly what my concept will bring to Manchester. It’s all about every aspect of the guest’s experience.”

With 200 covers, the new restaurant and bar will serve modern American cuisine, including brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner with a private dining area.

The building is largely prelet to international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer which has taken 80,000 sq ft.

Phil Mayall, director of English Cities Fund, said: “One New Bailey is a new hub for business and leisure so we are delighted to welcome Menagerie on board. We wanted to bring a dining experience unlike no other in Manchester so partnering up with Menagerie made perfect sense to us.

“We firmly believe that the New Bailey development is strengthening the city’s business and leisure value through its pioneering building One New Bailey and future exciting developments.”

King Street Commercial advised English Cities Fund.
