Offices at Victoria Warehouse poised for sign-off

Adam Geoffrey Management, owner of the events venue in Trafford, wants to upgrade a budget hotel at the site into a boutique offering, and add 63,400 sq ft of offices and a seven-storey car park.

The O2 Victoria Warehouse is located opposite Old Trafford football ground on Trafford Wharf Road and is operated by Academy Music Group.

The proposed 187-space car park would sit in the centre of the site, between the events space and the eastern warehouse.

The project’s planning consultant, Cunnae Town Planning, said: “The parking provision on site is currently inadequate for the efficient operation of the facility. This is likely to be exacerbated once the complex has been fully developed.

“The proposed provision will ensure that the site can operate safely and effectively into the future.”

Other plans include converting the six-storey, 42-bedroom budget hotel housed within the eastern warehouse, into a more boutique-style offering with 200 bedrooms.

A roof terrace is also proposed under the plans to expand the hotel, which already has consent for up to 775 bedrooms.

The proposal also calls for the conversion of two empty floors in the western warehouse into 63,400 sq ft of office space.

The 60,000 sq ft music and events space is not being considered for overhaul as part of the proposals, aside from a replacement roof.

Richard Drinkwater Architects designed the revamp.

Trafford Council has recommended the plans be approved when the planning committee meets next week.
