Occupier expansion at Port of Liverpool

Global animal feed trader ADM Agriculture has completed a £7.4m expansion at the Port of Liverpool, adding an additional 140,000 sq ft to create a 630,000 sq ft warehouse.

In 2018, the company signed a long-term contract with Peel Ports Group to invest in Liverpool and Glasgow, with the aim of achieving imports across the North and Scotland of one million tonnes each year.

According to Peel, the expansion makes the Liverpool warehouse the largest animal feed store in the UK.

Mark Whitworth, chief executive at Peel Ports Group, said: “We’re building a long-term partnership with ADM, one that now extends to three of our ports. Our network means we’re uniquely well placed to provide access to the most important markets in the UK, with the quality of service to ensure they deliver for their customers.”

The project was managed by Peel Ports’ capital projects team and delivered as a complete design and build package by Mazdon Construction, with specialist subcontractors Schenck Process UK for the conveyors and Adlec Electrical Engineering providing the power.

ADM Agriculture was previously known as ADM Arkady.
