Oast House operator opens in Alderley Edge

Thriving restaurant and bar group Living Ventures has opened its second pub, The Botanist, in the affluent east Cheshire village.

The Botanist opened last week in premises formerly occupied by the No.15 Wine Bar, at 15 London Road.

Paul Danson Engineering worked on the project, the same contractor as for the Oast House, and the project cost was £950,000.

The BotanistTim Bacon, managing director of Living Ventures, said: "The Oast House in Manchester has established a very strong following in a short space of time so I'm confident we will achieve the same with The Botanist and bring No 15 back to life."

Other Living Ventures brands include Gusto, Blackhouse Grill, The Alchemist, Australasia and Red Door.

The Botanist offers a "deli-style smokehouse menu with rotisserie and external barbecue" and a walled garden.

EPP Planning advised Living Ventures.
