OAS cycle ride raises funds for Norfox

More than 30 representatives from across the North West's property sector donned lycra on Thursday morning for the inaugural Manchester Office Agents Society property cycle, sponsored by Schroders.

With the Grand Depart from Schroders' City Tower at 10.30am, the peloton cycled a 37-mile loop from Manchester to Wilmslow, via the airport, then Altrincham, and back into town.

Along the route, the cyclists stopped at Barwood's Manchester Green, Orbit Developments' Crown House and Frogmore's Altrincham Business Park, before returning to City Tower for post-race refreshments.

Michelle Rothwell, senior surveyor at CBRE, won the race, with James Evans, director of industrial and office agency at Savills, coming in second after he was thwarted by a late-stage puncture.

All money raised from the event will go to children's charity Norfox.

Andrew Gardiner, director of TSG Property Consultants and event organiser, said: "I'm pleased with the level of interest in this inaugural event, and look forward to seeing more people on next year's property cycle. Big thanks to this year's sponsors, and to the plucky souls who committed to the ride."
