Oak Tyres gets go-ahead for Prescot centre

Knowsley Council has granted planning permission for a new motorists' centre on Warrington Road in Prescot on behalf of specialist tyre company Oak Tyres.

A vacant brownfield site, empty for several years following the closure and demolition of a petrol filling station, will become a tyre-fitting and MOT centre.

Conor Vallelly, planner at HOW Planning, advisor to Oak Tyres, said: "We are delighted to have secured this permission on behalf of Oak Tyres which will not only create a number of new jobs for the local community but will significantly enhance the vehicle servicing offer in the Prescot area."

Not sure this is needed, Peoples Ford is opposite offering MOT and tyre fitting. Knowsley MBC should do more to improve leisure services, with the closure of Scotchbarn pool and minute investment in Prescot Leisure centre. We need need a new leisure centre not tyre fitting, Brett, Prescot
