NW office agents compete at golf

Design and fit out company Paragon Interiors and the North West Office Agents Society held a golf day at Mottram Hall in Cheshire last Friday.

Twenty one players braved the rainy weather to play an individual 18-hole Stableford competition.

Particular highlights of the day included Alex Russell, from WHR, being awarded longest drive, pipping Andrew Timms, from Edwards & Co, to the prize.

Nearest to the pin was won by Greg Ball, from King Sturge, who struck a shot that caused the ball to ricochet off a tree before landing on the green with his golf club travelling 30 yards behind it!

Stuart Cooper, from Roger Hannah & Co, was the overall winner on the day with a score of 36, second place went to James Raspin, from DTZ, and Conrad O'Neill took third place. Nick Nelson, from CBRE, was awarded for best over 20's handicap. Prizes were supplied by Altham-based marketing agency CW Advertising.

Parading in the golf shop's entire waterproof range, the players were drenched by the time they reached the first pin. The first four players, Andy Timms, Leigh Dyson, Nigel Hunter and Simon Swindells, all managed birdies by the third hole, and were spurred on to attempt the full 18 holes.

Speaking on behalf of the North West Office Agents Society, Timms said: "Thanks to Paragon Interiors for their support on the day to ensure the agents were fed and watered as they tackled the floodplains of Mottram. They put on a great day with the added bonus of a pro on hand as well as a fantastic finale at Panacea. The office agencies were well represented and showed considerable resilience to the fine NW weather system, so thanks to all for their input. We look forward to next year's sunny golf day which will be taking place in June!"

The North West Office Agents Society will be out in force again in December for the annual winter seminar, followed by the four cities cycle tour of Manchester, Salford, Chester and Liverpool next spring.
