Novo hires from Glenbrook

Mike Shaw has joined Novo from fellow developer Glenbrook as the Altrincham-based company’s pipeline looks set to grow beyond £40m this year.

Shaw joined the team at Novo, headed up by director Ben Fearns, as an associate development manager this week, and will based out of the developer’s newly-completed office on The Downs.

He spent around 18 months at Glenbrook, having joined the company from Henry Boot Developments in September 2016.

Shaw joins as Novo prepares to deliver a number of significant developments in the coming years, including a £5m apartment scheme on Chapel Street in Salford. Work is also ongoing to convert Altrincham’s former Dili restaurant into nine apartments and three commercial units.

Other projects at the planning stage include the £2.3m Weavers Cottages project in Altrincham, which will see existing terraces on Regent Road converted into two-and-three bedroom houses.

Fearns said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Mike to the company, he’s an excellent addition to our development team. Mike is joining us at our new offices on The Downs in Altrincham, the town that has very much become home to Novo. The strengthening to our team follows significant growth that will see our development pipeline exceed £40m this year”.

Novo has recently signed a six-year lease for its head office on The Downs, having redeveloped the building into a mixed-use block. Fearns said it was “important for Novo to have a visible presence with the town and community”.
