Northstone starts its first houses

The Peel L&P subsidiary is building 150 homes in Westhoughton, Bolton with a second scheme planned in Barrowford, Pendle.

The homes in Bolton Road will have a mix of two, three, and four bedrooms. The houses were designed by Northstone’s in-house design team and Northstone is building them out itself. The subcontractor is Eurogold. The first units will be brought to market in the summer. The entire development will complete in 2022.

Sales on the first homes expected to launch in summer 2020, and the swith the first units ready in 2022.

Despite the coronavirus outbreak, construction on Silkash is continuing. According to a representative, this is constantly in review in line with the latest Government advice and best practice around the pandemic.

Plans for Northstone’s second development, called Keld, are currently in for consideration by Pendle Council. Subject to approval, Northstone will build 239 homes at Trough Laithe in Barrowford.

Phil Wilson, executive director of strategic land and homebuilding at Peel L&P, said: “Northstone offers something different to a traditional housebuilder and our homes have been carefully designed to meet the needs of modern living with an emphasis on sustainability, design and efficiency.

Contractors across the region are lobbying government for support in keeping construction sites open amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Northstone was formed in October 2018.
