Northern Trust signs Sainsbury’s

Northern Trust has secured Sainsbury's for a 4,000 sq ft convenience store in its £10m Carrington Centre redevelopment of a converted mill in Eccleston, Chorley.

The 13,000 sq ft new retail parade of nine shops includes a Post Office, pharmacy and library. Only two of the shop units remain available to let and cover 743 sq ft and 1,523 sq ft respectively. Peter E Gilkes & Co is the letting agent.

Contractor MJ Fellows is on site and is due to complete initial works prior to Christmas to enable retained tenants to benefit from the seasonal trade. Completion of the final fit out of the new Sainsbury's will follow in the New Year.

The plans at the Carrington Centre incorporate a housing scheme which is being delivered by Bloor Homes and consists of 62 family homes with a range of three to five bedrooms, including a proportion of affordable units. In addition, as part of the overall plans Northern Trust has secured the future of the football pitch on a long term agreement with the Parish Council.
