Nolan in ’00 heaven’ following Bond issue

Not exactly the kind of Bond issue that property professionals are used to, Paul Nolan found himself emulating Ernst Stavro Blofeld at the Bolton & Bury Business Awards Dinner.

Shaken and not a little bit stirred, the agency & development director at Nolan Redshaw, Manchester, somehow ended up taking the floor as the infamous screen bad guy during a medley of songs from the James Bond movies.

The photograph of Nolan holding Blofeld's famous white cat at the Reebok Stadium event led to calls for a caption competition from Brian Birtwistle of Birtwistle property consultants.

Mike Redshaw, joint senior partner of Nolan Redshaw, was the final judge and decided that Joe Wilshaw of Altus Edwin Hill entry was the winner with "Hope this lap dance improves!"

Birtwistle said: "We had some great replies, which were all apt and funny.

"However, as you would expect the majority were not suitable for publication, at least not in the opinion of Mike Redshaw and myself.

"I have just told the shed boys who the winner is and the intention is that Mike presents Joe with two bottles of champagne shortly."
