NML tenders Museum of Liverpool fit-out

National Museums Liverpool is to spend £12m on the fit-out of the exhibition galleries at the new Museum of Liverpool currently nearing completion on the waterfront.

The 100,000 sq ft building will contain roughly 60,000 sq ft of gallery content. There will be four main gallery areas telling the story of Liverpool in themed displays. The £72m museum is due to open in three phases during 2011 and 2012.

NML is advertising for experienced construction managers used to handling large scale museum projects to undertake the fit-out at the Pier Head building. NML has taken possession of the space from contractors Galliford Try and the fit-out project is ready to start on site as soon as the construction partner and other trades are procured.

The Museum of Liverpool contract team includes 3XN, AEW, Galliford Try, BRC Imagination Arts, Buro Happold, Mott MacDonald and Turner & Townsend.
