Nine sign up to Daresbury campus

New tenants have been signed to the Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus in Cheshire.

Among the latest arrivals to the facility are web-based software provider Terrabase, high performance cloud computing solutions provider, OCF, and Centum Electronics, the UK subsidiary of an Indian business providing electronic solutions.

Flintloque Management Systems, which supports medical device companies to secure international management system standards, has also taken space at the campus alongside Tomorrow's Medicines, the creator of a web platform providing access for patients to clinical trials and Hue Touch, which provides technology for mobile marketing to a range of businesses.

Completing the new line-up at the Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus are Natural Energy Resources, a provider of renewable energy technologies to smaller businesses, UbooGo Systems, a mobile commerce technology provider that aggregates small and medium sized brands under one mobile application and I-Group, which provides solutions to public and private sector organisations based on Microsoft's Sharepoint technology.

The space taken by the new companies is around 400 sq ft in total.

John Leake, business development manager at the Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus, said: "The main draw for new hi-tech firms arriving at Daresbury is our focus on innovation, the creation of a highly collaborative business environment and the flexibility offered by our world-class facilities."

The Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus is a private-public joint venture between Langtree, Science & Technology Facilities Council, North West Development Agency and Halton Council.

In March, Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne announced in the government's Budget that the Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus will receive £10m out of £100m of additional funding for science investments projects.

Halton Council, North West Development Agency and the Science & Technology Facilities Council appointed developer Langtree in October last year to deliver 1m sq ft at Daresbury over the next 30 years.

Langtree is on site with a speculative 36,000 sq ft office and laboratory building, Vanguard House, which is still to be completed.

Leake added: "As we prepare for further expansion with the imminent opening of our new grown-on building, Vanguard House, we will look forward to further expansion of the Daresbury high-tech community."
