NHS occupies units in Blackburn and Colne

St. Modwen has completed a trio of NHS deals at three of its sites in the region.

NHS East Lancashire Teaching Primary Care Trust has taken 5,600 sq ft at Petre Court in one of the five self contained units on the 33,500 sq ft development. Remaining available units start from 3,355 sq ft.

In Colne, NHS East Lancashire has paid £750,000 for the former Kwik Save site, where it will develop a £10m medical centre with work scheduled to start on site in 2010.

The largest deal secured is at the Innovation Centre at Blackburn's £25m Evolution Park, where Blackburn with Darwen PCT took 9,748 sq ft of space on a five-year lease. Space is still available at Fusion House which is also located on the site.

Richard Bakes, development manager at St Modwen, said: "We've been in talks with a number of medical and healthcare related occupiers and it is a testament to the quality of space on offer at Petre Court and Evolution Park that we have secured these high profile deals at two of our new business park locations.

"Discussions are moving forward on both sites for further lettings and we are confident that these will come to fruition."
