NHS moves for 20,000 sq ft of offices in St Helens

St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust wants to lease St Helens College’s former 14-16 vocational centre off Waterside.

The three-storey building is vacant following a change in curriculum that the college no longer requires a standalone 14-16 facility.

The 18,400 sq ft building, which was built in 2009, is located within the college’s technology campus.

Under plans lodged by the college and designed by architect Broadway Malyan, the building would be converted from an educational facility to offices for the NHS trust.

In addition, a mezzanine floor would be added, taking the amount of available space up to 20,000 sq ft. No external changes to the building are proposed.

The NHS trust would use the building to provide administrative and other supporting functions to other staff employed by the trust.
