Nexus recruits associate director from WSP

Matt Dugdale has joined the Manchester office of the planning consultancy after working as an associate with WSP and Indigo Planning.

As an associate director at Nexus Planning, Dugdale focuses on developing and growing the consultancy’s work in the residential sector. He is one of nine staff based at the company’s office in Castlefield. Nexus also has offices in London and Reading.

Dugdale has 14 years of experience in development in the North West and has worked with housebuilders Seddon, Bellway, Miller and Russell as well as developers Brookhouse, Investar and Peel. Key past projects include Trafford College Group’s redevelopment of Stockport College and Investar’s Royal George Village.

He’s familiar with both the public sector as well, having previously worked as a planning officer for St Helens Council and West Lancashire Borough Council.

“We are delighted that a planner of Matt’s calibre has joined the Nexus team,” said Nexus executive director Peter Tooher. “He will certainly add further depth to the service we provide to existing and new clients, not least in the residential sector, one of our key growth areas.”

Dugdale is a chartered town planner, a member of the RTPI North West’s Regional Activities Committee and a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. He started work at Nexus Planning in September.

“I’m excited to have joined the RTPI Planning Consultancy of the Year 2020 and to be given the opportunity to further develop the consultancy’s residential and strategic land work,” Dugdale said.
