Nexus hires director from WYG

Nexus Planning has expanded its Manchester team with the addition of Richard Shepherd as a director.

Shepherd specialises in providing planning advice on retail and town centre development for both private and public sector clients. He joins from WYG Planning, where he was also a director.

Retail schemes he has worked on recently include the proposed Ikea development at Cuerden and a planned designer outlet centre at Scotch Corner.

Peter Tooher, executive director and head of Nexus Planning’s Manchester office, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Richard to the Nexus team – this represents another important step in the growth of the team in Manchester and establishes the national reach of our retail planning capability.

“Richard’s skills and experience will be of significant benefit to many of our existing clients and will enable us to develop our footprint in this important sector.”

Shepherd added: “Nexus Planning has established a strong reputation in advising both the private and public sectors. I look forward to working as part of such a knowledgeable team to deliver the full range of retail planning services to new and existing clients.”

The Manchester office, in Eastgate within Castlefield, is one of four Nexus locations.
