Newbies at Rider Levett Bucknall

The Manchester office of surveying practice Rider Levett Bucknall has appointed six new staff to keep pace with rising workloads of the office, based at Exchange Quay.

Ben Stazaker, chartered quantity surveyor, joined from Poole Dick Associates. He is chairman of RICS Matrics North Staffordshire. His clients at RLB include Royal Northern College of Music and Fife Council.

Matthew Banks joined as graduate quantity surveyor from Protec Roofing North West.

Ashley Parkinson and Aron Kirsh both graduated this summer and joined the building surveying team in graduate roles. Both will work on projects with Manchester University, as well as a number of other clients.

The project management team gained a new recruit, with Gemma Taylor joining as an assistant project manager. Her previous role was with APB Building Surveyors and she specialises in space-planning, working for clients including Charity Commission, Defra, CEFAS, Interserve and the Home Office.

Finally, Claire Ryan joins as office manager following four years with Tesco in the same role.

Chris Hartley, who manages the Manchester office, said: "These new appointments have strengthened our team in Manchester significantly. We are continuing to invest in Manchester, with an office refurbishment scheduled for later this year.

"There are some great opportunities in the market and we are continuing to win some excellent work, particularly helping clients on the sustainability side, with carbon management plans, environmentally focused enhancements and achieving SKA Ratings."

The Manchester office employs 26 staff working for clients including University of Manchester, Greater Manchester Police and Manchester Metropolitan University.
