New stores at Clayton Square

Land Securities said it has completed four deals in recent weeks at Clayton Square shopping centre in Liverpool city centre.

Sports fashion retailer MadHouse has opened a 5,000 sq ft store at the entrance off Church Street.

Clothes chain West Coast has agreed a five-year lease on a 2,215 sq ft unit between Clas Ohlson and Mothercare.

Smaller deals were done with Clayton News and confectionary seller A Quarter of Sweets, on Great Charlotte Street and Parker Street respectively.

James Larmuth, Land Securities' portfolio manager, said: "The high street may be busy but every pound in the consumer purse has to work much harder. So we're listening to our customers and working hand-in-hand with retailers to ensure we deliver the right deals to bring great value for money brands such as Madhouse and West Coast into the scheme."

Legat Owen and Savills are the letting agents.
