New recruits at Jennings Design

Architectural practice Jennings Design Associates has expanded its Manchester office with two new appointments.

Karen O'Reilly has joined as architect from John McCall Architects in Liverpool. With a strong social housing background, O'Reilly will look to build on JDA's expanding portfolio of socially-led residential schemes and has also been tasked with the implementation of the firm's Building Information Modeling agenda.

Mike Hughes joins from Tameside Council as senior technologist. Hughes has been brought in to strengthen the company's technical and on-site services and working on schemes including delivering Armstrong Point, the BREEAM 'outstanding' business park in Wigan.

Rob Henderson, director of JDA, said: "We all know that the industry still faces significant challenges but JDA do seem to be bucking the trend. Our workload is continuing to expand and we felt the time was right to supplement our team with some senior people who bring with them both talent and experience. We are delighted that they have joined the office and look forward to continued growth in 2012.

JDA clients include Casey Developments, Armstrong Properties, Kinetica, Tameside and High Peak councils, Stockport Sports Trust, St Vincent's Housing Association, Caritas Care and Annacliffe Residential Care.
