Manchester Ship Canal Developments, a joint venture partnership between developer Peel Land & Property and Manchester City Council, has unveiled the newly completed Cube apartments within its Eastbank project at New Islington, east Manchester.
The scheme received funding of £4.93m from the Homes & Communities Agency to help deliver the residential phase of the regeneration project.
Construction work on the apartments and houses was carried out by Trafford-based contractor Russells Construction.
The Cube comprises 33 one and two bedroom apartments close to the city centre. Eastbank is located near to Piccadilly railway station within walking distance of Sports City.
A Metrolink stop is currently being constructed on the adjacent Pollard Street which will provide further links to destinations such as Media City UK in Salford Quays.
James Whittaker, Peel's development director, said: "The fact that this is one of the first projects with Kickstart funding to be completing is testament to our long working partnership with the city council and relationships with valued contractors.
"The HCA funding enabled us to show exactly how the private and public sector can work together to deliver outstanding city centre homes."
Furniture supplier David Phillips Interiors is developing a number of furniture package options available to residents or owners who may wish to hand over the job of interior design.
Eastbank features a second residential building, The Mews, which comprises of a mix of 30 two and three bedroom townhouses, many with garages, and 45 one and two bedroom apartments and duplexes. The Mews is due to be completed in spring 2011.
Prices start from £99,950 for one of the Cube apartments, with 24 apartments already sold off plan.
