New chairman for Select

Mike Hutchins, the former head of Royal Bank of Scotland's retail arm, has become the first non-executive chairman of Wilmslow-based company Select Properties.

Hutchins retired from RBS in April 2004 and has since acted as a management consultant to listed and private organisations including RBS, Abbey, Berg Legal, James Chapman and Co, and HL Interactive.

Stephen Blank, the former finance director of both Generis Technology and Swinton Insurance has also been appointed to the board of the overseas property seller.

Select Properties is 80% owned by Manchester entrepreneur Mark Stott, and jointly develops property schemes in Dubai.
