The Residence River IrwellThe Liverpool-based developer bought the site from Silverlane earlier this year for around £7m, as the location of its first scheme outside of Liverpool.

Planning permission was granted in December for the Jeffrey Bell-designed towers of 14 and 33 storey, which will overlook the River Irwell and Manchester Arena and include 300 apartments.

The scheme’s main contractor is expected to be announced shortly.

Elliot Lawless, managing director of Elliot Group, said: “We’re building a stable team around our business as we enter a key delivery phase. When the first diggers get going on Greengate we’ll have seven projects on site simultaneously with a development value of £120m. To spin that number of plates we need the very best people around us and I’m delighted to confirm these appointments.”
