New Care’s 70-bed Grappenhall facility gets go-ahead

The Springbrook Public House will be demolished to make way for the care home scheme designed by C Squared Architects.

Warrington Council gave the green light to the development, which will see a three-storey building erected on a 1.2-acre site off Stockport Road. Plans also call for 30 car spaces, three of which will be disabled spaces.

The new Grappenhall facility will take up 14,424 sq ft of the land. The care home will have 37,545 sq ft of internal floor space, including the bedrooms, a secure reception area and amenity spaces. There will be 24-hour care provided for residents.

New Care operates seven care homes in the country, with more than 500 bedrooms between them. The care company was established in 2009.

Consultants on the scheme include DEP Landscape Architecture and SCP on transport.

Warrington Council also recently approved plans for another Grappenhall Heys project – the construction of 228 houses at Witherwin Avenue.
