New Care completes in Formby

McGoff Group’s healthcare arm New Care has opened its latest facility, a £15m care home in Liverpool Road, Formby.

Known as Formby Manor, the 76-bed centre’s offering includes residential, nursing and specialist dementia care services. McGoff Construction started building work in January 2018 on the 43,000 sq ft facility, a project that involved the demolition of former industrial buildings on site.

Street Design Partnership was the architect for the development, which was forward-sold by New Care to the Octopus Healthcare Fund as part of a £60m, four-asset sale and leaseback in October 2018

The Formby development was funded by Puma Property Finance. Puma investment director Tony Throp said: “We have a long record of working with experienced care home operators and are pleased to have continued our support of New Care by financing this latest development which will deliver high-quality care for residents of the Formby area.”
