Neptune names contractors on framework

Liverpool-based Neptune Developments has named more than a dozen large contractors to its construction framework for future projects.

Neptune's decision to set up a contract panel to call-off for specific jobs is unusual for a private sector client. Stephen Osuhor, construction director, said the move reflected the company's frequent work with the public sector. Neptune is in the process of forming a joint venture with Liverpool City Council and has worked in the past with the North West Development Agency and Merseytravel among others.

Neptune's contract award notice said the work covered regeneration and mixed-use developments including associated infrastructure.

Contracts will be let under a design and construction arrangement and contractors may be required to initially provide pre-contract advice, before being invited to tender for and undertake construction works. The quantity and value of works is not yet determined and cannot be guaranteed.

Some of the projects may be partly funded by the public sector finance programmes such as European Regional Development Fund.

Neptune received 56 bids from contractors and appointed 13 to the panel:

  • BAM Construction
  • Bowmer & Kirkland
  • ISG Regions
  • McLaren Construction
  • Miller Construction UK
  • Vinci Construction UK
  • Shepherd Construction
  • Headcrown Group
  • WH Snow
  • Nobles Construction
  • Whitfield & Brown
  • Williams Tarr
  • Flanagan Building & Maintenance Services
