Neptune Developments has announced it will be working with BDO Stoy Hayward, administrators of Windsor Developments (Liverpool) Limited, to bring forward development proposals for a mothballed site in the Baltic Triangle area of the waterfront.
The prime site is bounded by Wapping and Park Lane and sits opposite Kings Dock and close to the Liverpool One retail area.
Steve Parry, managing director of Neptune Developments, said: "We have been looking at the feasibility for this site over recent months and I am delighted that we will be working with the administrator to develop proposals for this strategically important site.
"It's crucially important that this site does not continue to blight confidence or further investment in this area and that is why we will be working hard to bring forward an appropriate and deliverable development mix as soon as is reasonably possible."
Parry added: "This is an outstanding location that has improved dramatically with the completion of the ACC Liverpool and, of course, Liverpool One. Accordingly there will be high expectations for this site and we will therefore be aiming to bring forward a development solution that is both appropriate for this landmark site and financially sustainable."
London-based Windsor Developments began work on the site in 2006 as the first phase of an ambitious vision to transform the Baltic area. Work ceased when the company went into administration less than 12 months later.
The original Windsor Developments scheme was largely residential but any new proposals are likely to adopt a mixed-use approach.
Neptune is currently on site at another prime waterfront site in Liverpool, delivering residential, offices and associated retail and leisure at Mann Island a few hundred metres from the Baltic area.
