NCP to build Bolton car parks

Bolton council has awarded a 35-year contract to NCP to build and manage three new multi-storey car parks in the town centre.

In addition, NCP will maintain surface car parks and pay and display machines on the street, as well as council car parks.

The new Bath Street and Deane Road car parks, each with 800 spaces, are expected to be completed by late 2009 and the 600-space Breightmet Street to follow a year later. All are subject to planning.

Mark Peasnall, NCP's business development director, said: "We are very excited to have been given this opportunity to work with Bolton Council to achieve these plans and look forward to making a significant and direct contribution to the on-going success of the town centre's regeneration projects."
