Nash takes the lead at Shoosmiths Manchester

Wayne Nash is to head up the law firm’s Manchester office with Vaqas Farooq stepping up to take a national role with Shoosmiths’ main board.

Farooq previously led the office and acted as head of real estate, but has taken a strategic role with the company’s board.

Nash, head of property litigation in the north, has been promoted to head up the Manchester office, while Andrew Pattison has stepped up to head the real estate team.

Nash will be supported by two deputy office heads; litigation partner Kath Livingston, and corporate partner Karen Procter.

Kathryn Jump and Lisa Tye, who currently operate as a job share, have also been promoted to be the joint-head of national planning.

The company’s Manchester team is based at the XYZ Building in Spinningfields; Shoosmiths has offices around the country but its Manchester base is its only site in the North West.

Wayne Nash said: “I am looking forward to this new challenge. Under the excellent stewardship of Vaq, our Manchester office has gone from strength to strength in recent years, growing a number of teams with key strategic hires, as well as advising major corporates across the region in several sectors.

“I wish Vaq well in his new national role and I am looking forward to working with Kath and Karen and the whole office as we build upon our success as one of the leading law firms in the city.

“I am also delighted about the new roles for Kathryn Jump, Lisa Tye and Andrew Pattinson. The real estate team they manage is market leading and renowned for its innovation and service to clients and I am confident that they will continue to enjoy even more success.”
