Napthens recruits construction specialist for Cumbria

The Penrith office of law firm Napthens has hired construction and engineering solicitor Leigh Child as a senior associate.

Child joined the firm from Burnetts in Cumbria.

She will advise clients on all aspects of construction and engineering projects, from procurement through to completion. Areas of support will include preparing letters of intent, building contracts, professional appointments, dispute resolution and litigation.

She has particular experience of advising on large-scale campus redevelopment construction projects for further education and higher education clients, as well as renewable energy projects for rural clients.

Other recent appointments for Napthens in Cumbria include local solicitor Kate Mallaband to lead the commercial property service in the county.

James Todhunter, Napthens’ head of Cumbria, said: “Leigh’s appointment as our first dedicated construction specialist in the county is a clear sign that Napthens is committed to growing our services in the area.”
