Nando’s signs at Walkden Retail Park
Nando’s is set to open at the retail park in spring 2020 after signing a 20-year lease.
When it opens next year, it will sit in a 4,100 sq ft unit between Aldi and Tesco.
Other tenants on the retail park, owned by The Derwent Group, include M&S Foodhall, Quality Save, Pets at Home, and Total Fitness Gym.
James Maule-Ffinch, senior asset manager, said: “Nando’s will be the third food and beverage operator at Walkden Retail Park, joining Papa Johns and Purple Lounge Indian, and is a hugely popular brand to bring to the local area.
“We’re also delighted to strengthen our relationship with Nando’s in the UK, as this is the third site in our portfolio to welcome the brand.”
CSP and Petch & Co acted for The Derwent Group.

Is this the future for empty units originally intended for retail??? Will these areas just become a melting point of pizza, chicken and indian food outlets???
That is brilliant news, can not wait
Very pleased to act for Derwent on this and secure planning approval on this town centre site. Important to put empty units into active uses such as these which can being vitality to our town centres into the evening.

Brilliant news a great add on to walkden retail park
More clothing shop like primark would be great
Great news. ……hopefully there gonna put a cinema and Hollywood bowl there as they mention before which is still going through planning ….only going up Walkden.
The population growth of Walkden and little Hulton alone increased in recent years and will increase in the near future especially with all the new builds going up.so I imagine that great demand for more shops in Walkden town centre will increase..its basically called preparing the infrastructure around town to cater for the population growth hence why there is still empty units at the moment until more footfall creates the demand needed….which in reality is soon from I’ve seen over the recent years.
