Nando’s secured at White City
Chicken chain Nando’s has signed for the former Pizza Hut unit at White City Retail Park, close to Old Trafford.
Nando’s has agreed a 20-year lease with park owner Derwent Group on the 3,461 sq ft unit, and expects to open in July 2019.
The arrival of Nando’s brings the park tenant line-up to 16, which includes M&S Food Hall, Sofology, Aldi, Costa, Home Bargains, Currys and Wren Kitchens, with Halfords also recently being added to the site.
James Maule-Ffinch, senior asset manager for Derwent Group, said: “Nando’s is a very popular brand and its addition helps to really strengthen the food and beverage offer at White City Retail Park.
“Occupying a prominent unit at the Chester Road entrance, we expect Nando’s to be an additional footfall generator for the park as a whole and we welcome them to our tenant portfolio.”
White City Retail Park totals 210,570 sq ft of retail space and 658 car parking spaces. The park underwent a £10m refurbishment in 2016 to create an additional 56,000 sq ft of units.
Joint agents for White City Retail Park are Cheetham & Mortimer and CSP.
Derwent is part of the Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation and operates across the retail, leisure, industrial and commercial sectors with a commercial property portfolio in excess of 2.8m sq ft. The group is also investing heavily at its Liverpool Shopping Park holding, announcing in October a further £30m expansion of the development.
Nando’s also has restaurants at the Lowry Outlet Mall, Trafford Centre and Chill Factore.

Please make sure its HALAL, you have a lot of Muslims around the area which will be beneficial to Nandos. Just look at the 1 in Trafford Centre, Manchester Fort etc it’s always full.

Halal is illegal in the UK because it is sub standard produce. There is a dispensation granted (totally unnecessarily) to minorities that do not advertise the offensive food to the majority in the UK. It seems the majority of the country that cannot eat halal don’t matter. This is why you have an angry public building. Halal is not on in the UK and it is banned in other countries for a good reason – they have progressed, whereas we appear to have regressed.
